Jacksonville Beach

It was a beautiful day here yesterday so we headed out to the beach. East coast beaches are a little different than west coast beaches, the waves aren't as big, but I thought it was actually more beautiful overall, and you don't have to pay for parking! Although you can't see other people in these photos, the beach was packed! Spring break and gorgeous weather attracted a lot of people. Before the beach, Ryan wanted to take us to a burger place that he said was comparable to In-n'-Out called Five Guys Burgers. The place looked similar inside but the food was no where near the quality of a good double-double! No special sauce or grilled buns, but no doubt it was still good. Ryan had been gone the day before out at sea so we were happy to have him back home! We had a great day as a family!

Mr. National Geographics

A Day at the Jacksonville Zoo!

We had so much fun at the zoo this weekend. Skylee thought it was so cool to be that close to real animals. If she knew how to say the name of the animal she would repeat it over and over, and like a monkey, if she knew what sound it made, thats all you could hear for miles I'm sure. I knew we would have fun, and I'm so glad we finally made it there, we're making plans to go back soon, when it's not so crowded. Here are just a few pictures we took of our outting...This is Skylee and Ryan actually feeding this giraffe, it was so cool. Skylee was a little frightened by this large creature, but eventually liked it.

These little monkeys were both Skylee and my favorite. We watched these guys for a long time because they were so entertaining, and so was Skylee doing her impressions of monkeys herself.

Skylee can now say "Ele" for obvious reasons...

15 Months And Counting...

It's true, kids start picking up on everything you do. This is just one example of Skylee repeating things we have been saying ever since she was born, counting...1, 2, 3! Most of the time she'll say "two" normal, then scream "three" or just scream, and we're supposed to know that is her "three!". Three is always the exciting part, where we are supposed to do something...if we don't then she'll make up somthing funny. She's just turned 15 months last week, but already the verbal skills have started to show that they will take off fast from this point! It's so fun as a parent to hear your little one trying to say all kinds of words! I have another video clip of Skylee in the bath repeating everything I tested her with, but didn't think it was the most appropriate to post my child in the bath online! This age is so fun!

I couldn't resist taking pictures!

I just took these after she had taken a bath and I got her dressed, she was in a good mood, so I took advantage of her saying "cheeeeeese" I know I'm her mother but, these are SO cute!

Easter Decorating

I thought Skylee would have fun decorating a little bit with me for Easter, and I of course had to take pictures of it. The weather here has been beautiful the past couple of days, so she always wants to be outside. I'm glad I got some cute photos of Skylee decorating the yard, but these Easter yard sticks ended up going inside. She absolutely loved putting on the plasitc decals on our oven, entertainment center, and kitchen widow and now she will go up to the oven and start trying to play with the bunnies and chicks she stuck on there.

Skylee's art project

Skylee coloring her hands.

I decided it was time we tested doing little art projects with Skylee. As you can see she just wanted to color on her hands, most of what is actually on the finished product for Ryan is me trying to show her how to do it. She got the point, but it was way more fun to see bright colors on her hands! Give her a couple more months and she'll blow you away! I did this with her in the morning (that's why she's in her p.j.'s still) before Ryan came home from work, then taped it to the door he comes into. When he drove up, he of course loved it!
